What School Meant To Me School was a safe place to be. We - TopicsExpress

What School Meant To Me School was a safe place to be. We began each day with a prayer. Everybody believed in God. We pledged our allegiance to the Flag. We learned respect. We learned how to get along with each other. We knew the difference between right and wrong. We looked out for each other. We made lifelong friends. Our friends parents watched out for us too. People were friendly in my little town and we supported each others endeavors, whether that was sports, majorettes or all the wonderful mom & pop stores in town. We enjoyed walking to school, sharing our latest joys and even the heartaches we suffered. Our teachers were to be respected and we made sure they were! What the hell happened? We are not allowed to say a prayer because it might offend those who dont believe. Really? And our flag is desecrated because a few dont hold it up as everyone once did. We really need to get back to basics, folks. Stop being so lax with discipline in raising our young ones. Keep your head on straight, people. Stop the violence. I could go on, but I think I made my point. At least I hope I did.
