What The Ego wants to always be is in control. The Ego must be brought into balance before real submission can take place. Denying self, picking up the cross and following HIM is simply an expression of that concept. By placing our focus on Christ, we undermine the Ego and live in the Spirit so to speak. Initially, this process of letting go and allowing is painful because it seems and feels as though were losing control. However, be not afraid OlSport. The Ego must LOSE in order for us to reach higher heights and rediscover our true nature. In terms of application, it comes thru understanding who you are. You ARE NOT YOUR THOUGHTS. Become a conscious observer of the thought process and itll become easier to identify when ur operating in Ego versus the Spirit.
