What Was 17 Years Ago? 17 years ago, I was in a country which I know it to be Singapore. Was it really Singapore? What was Singapore like 17 years ago? Can someone advise me please. I was staying in Queenstown, in an army flat. When I took a peek at the old photos of my nannies, I saw it was written British Royal Army. My nannies had several pictures with Caucasian officer. Logically speaking, why must be a foreigner white Caucasian leading the Singapore army. Didnt make sense. As a child, I was allowed to come along to his working place. I saw a lot of his cadets all shouting Good morning sir. Can the Singapore army officers be allowed to bring their children to their army camp area? Definitely not! How come I can? Plus his another daughter too. Daddy, please show security video and pictures please. Do Singapore army personnels have childrens day or family day? We had. It was extremely fun to the fullest. Lots of games, plenty of nice food and I even got to ride on a moving army tanker. Can Singapore army allow to do that too for their families? Dont think so. Dad, please show the videos of family and children day please. I sometime had to visit my relatives in Geylang area. It was merely villages then. Huge land area for each family. It was not poor like some country which I noted from documentary. The villages looks neat and really huge space. That was not the only village area but quite a lot more. I was also informed by colleagues, he was brought up in a farm with acres of trees. That was from another side of the island. Our nanny then wanted to move to their own flat. Hence I followed them to choose the flat that they want. Choosing of flat at that time was not like now. The nanny went to the estate and we walked up and down to see which flat they like. How was the estate like? All red sand. Some sign of old bus stop half buried under the sand. There was only one blocks ready. The rest was empty land. It was a town called Jurong East. The block was 102. We then drove to Jurong West near Boon Lay. There the nanny was warned by his cousin not to choose the area. Lots of islander. Which I will explain later what islander means. Anyway was told my nanny was not able to secure any of the units. I can guess why. Not ready for them as there was no amenities at all. We finally moved 2 years later where I got to meet all the princes again. The nannys cousin warned the nanny again. Bukit Batok was just across the next town. Very near and can even reach by walking. There were some from the British Royal Army that moved into Bukit Batok area. Which means they are merely workers. How so I discerned that? Their children went to Queensway (metaphorically, in queens way) secondary school. Some of their children went to Mei Chin secondary which means they were from defunct monarchy. Hmm... Commonwealth Secondary might mean for Commonwealth realm children. They were not allowed to study with royal children. We were all in Tanglin. Now, here is the very irrational thing that I noticed which the senior gamers/royals failed to make the scenario consistently. 1) Villagers living in a flat with huge compound. Village demolished and people were asked to live in flats. From flat surface area to be spread vertically. How many flats can occupy the whole village given that a flat is 12 storey and each row can occupy eg 15 units. 180 villagers home altogether. I am sure the whole village can occupy 1 flat. 2) There was a campaign 2 is enough. Majority of the Singaporean was fined not to give birth more than 2. Hence it resulted in Singapore not having enough to support the aging population. But let me asked back again. How come Singapore feels so crowded and flats build getting smaller and smaller. Government said not enough land. But point 1 and point 2 do not hold the arguement at all. 3) It was also during that time, I was brought to see the newly build Singapore Changi Airport. Before that the nanny told me they were using Seletar and Paya Lebar which were meant for army use only. So was he saying that prior to that period, no one flew out off the country since there was no commercial flight. 4) This one does not relate to 17 years ago. 14 years ago instead. I had to study history. Can I know what kind of history were you learning. My nanny the one acting as an elder sister who went to study in Commonwealth Sec was needed to learn South East Asia history. She covered mostly the fall of Mataram and other Asian countries indepth. While my history learning was very weird. It jumped around. Cause of World War I, World War II, briefly touched on Raffles founded Singapore, communism started in Russia, Japanese occupation (highly censored), Singapore rise as entrepot trade and the new Singapore government after breaking away from Malaya. Why my history lesson seems to be all over the place unlike my nanny? When I wrote my thesis, I actually tapped upon whatever brief knowledge I had based on that. So my deduction again is, we (me and the royal princes), were never part of the Singapore scene at all. Ours were made to believe world. To allow us to grow, learn and mingle. The islander refers to the people in Cocos Island. They are originally Baweanese who migrated to the island. They stated it was their island under US government. But the British claim there was a document signed stating it under British. Anyway, it was known then islander do not like the whites. At that time, they were staying in their area the Cocos Island. A bridge and land reclamation unite the two island into one big one. The Caucasian resides in Christmas Island, the bigger island. I was also told there were quite a number of unhabitat islands nearby too.
