What a 24 hours we had around here! Many emails, tweets and fb messages have come in saying you guys hyped the heck out of this, what gives, I had sunshine. I try to share with you as much data we look at as possible. That being said, seeing the data over the past 24 hours, it isnt a surprise we had a spin up tornado in Wolcott. It isnt surprising to see what happened in Revere. The instability and turning of winds in the different levels of the atmosphere, clearly pointed to this being a possibility. The whole point of our First Alert Weather Days is to give you all a heads up that we feel theres enough risk that we want everyone to pay more attention than usual, especially for all of the vacationers, campers out there across the state. One woman was on camera saying I didnt know this was going to happen today. Perhaps she didnt watch me on Sunday AM, I specifically said Quick spin up Tornadoes are possible. Not everyone watches TV news, thats why we follow with twitter, fb, etc. Trust me, I hate using the T word, its scary. I only use it when I have to. Im glad there were no injuries. So, as the threat is in the rear view mirror for the rest of the evening and next couple of days. Know that I dont post on here alerts, or go on the air using scary terms, unless the conditions warrant. Prepared, not scared is my motto.. I hope the rest of the summer is calmer, but no doubt, Im sure well have to deal with some more rough weather, lots more summer to go!
