What a Christmas this has been . . . one of the best in many - TopicsExpress

What a Christmas this has been . . . one of the best in many years! The best gift of course came 2000+ years ago. But I must say that for me, this year, my best gift showed up at my door on Monday evening. Today we had to say good-bye and it always breaks my heart, but we had a great few days of visiting, eating, laughing, remembering. Dave and Peg brought many samples of the bounty from their garden -- pickles (the BEST on the planet), salsa, tomato soup, homemade V-8, pickled beets, green beans, okra, vegetable soup, apple sauce, apple butter, rhubarb/strawberry jam, cranberry orange bread, rice krispie peanut butter chocolate roll, AND LEFSE and frozen RHUBARB!!!!! I will be filling up on Lefse today. Peggy made a some pickles using my Grandma Benjamins pickle recipe that uses grape leaves. They are delicious. She also brought a jar of her recipe pickles for us and one for Meg and Casey. OMG! Peggys pickles are the best ever. There isnt a store brand that comes close! Of course, everything she makes is awesome. I am going to miss them like crazy -- matter of fact, I already do! But, we are going to do our best to make a SD trip this summer. I am so thankful that God brought Dave and Peg here safely and I pray he gives them a safe trip home. I hope Santa was good to you all! I certainly made out like a bandit. Fooled the old man in the red suit once again!! Merry Christmas, everyone!! And most of all, Happy Birthday, Jesus -- the greatest gift of all!
