What a FUN idea for a youth group / scout troop to help the hungry in Jefferson County! • Un-Baked Goods Sale: Coordinate a scout troop, youth group, or other youth organization to offer an Un-Baked Goods Sale. After hearing a lecture on hunger in the community and a possible tour of the pantry, the group may go out to a shopping center or anywhere a bake good sale might be held, and set up tables with plates, napkins, cake pans, cookie jars, etc. just like a baked good sale. Instead of having food to sell, the cookie jars and plates have slips of paper that say something like, “I did not buy ____ cookies so that hungry people in Jefferson County may eat. All proceeds go to The Lord’s Cupboard of Jefferson County” Price: 4 “cookies” for $1.00 (because each dollar donated will buy 4 pounds of food!)
