What a Summer this has been: 1. Had a downstairs bedroom and bedroom built onto the house 2. My 10th year at the Rebellion Festival (Jamies 9th) (The Worlds biggest punk festival). This year Jamies band The Antiseptics. played. Really rocked the place :-) youtube/watch?v=McsY8CLbTZw I danced more than anyone else at the festival - a one man mosh pit :-) Just couldnt stop. (Struggled to walk the rest of the time - but I could dance :-D ) Thank you redbull. Met lots of friends from previous years and met loads more - it is just one big family. And music - just the best on the planet! All day and night for 4 days. 3. I played with a Pakistani Sufi band in London 3 days later: Adeel Saeed Chishti https://facebook/video.php? They really rocked the room: Some of the nicest people you could ever meet and inspiring musicians. I really admire those guys. I hadnt met them before playing with them, we had no rehearsal time, it was the first time I had ever played with another musician, let alone a band. And these guys have played Wembley Stadium - a truly humbling experience for me. A real privilege. v=10154515558980607&set=vb.164906893544202&type=3&theater 4. Jamies 18th birthday was just days later - everyone dancing until 6am - the neighbours still arent talking to us? 5. A couple of weeks later after teaching in Durham I blacked out driving home - totally wrecked my van - and took a fair blow to my chest. Half an hour later I was wired to an ECG in an ambulance - just being checked out, nothing serious - and my heart stopped. Well the top half anyway - the bottom of my heart continued on its own - I was still conscious - vision went a bit blurry though. They are doing tests to find out if the accident caused the electrical fault or whether the electrical fault caused the blackout. Meanwhile Im fine - no problem 6. Tonight I was on the Radio in America being interviewed by a new friend (thank you Facebook) Burt Cohen who was interested in my opinion, as a native Scot, living in the North of England on the topic of Scottish devolution. dl.dropboxusercontent/u/48358971/ScotlandYes_.mp3 My wife and son cant get over how surreal my life is. I wouldnt have it any other way. You just couldnt write it? :-D
