What a Wonderful World … Topic derived based on Louis Armstrong’s classic, “What a wonderful world …” What is wonderful about this world? How do we view this world while entangled in our routine each day? Though at times we may think of taking a break from the mundane to appreciate the little truths, we most probably postpone it to a time that we conveniently assume to be always available. When talking about world, we have to factor in two entities, our self and the world as we know. Am hoping most of us know our self however weird and demeaning this sentence sounds as it’s the most basic existential knowledge in our experience. So, assume we know as the point in discussion is the other entity, the World. That which comes as part of nature are water (Aapa/Jala), fire (Agni), earth (Prithvi), air (Vayu) and all these rests in space (Akash/Vyom), we know these five elements. The world outside is made up of various objects which are nothing but these five elements in various permutations and combinations. There are so many inventions that the human mind tries to bring in, all these come under only within the framework and guidelines of these five elements however the applications and physical forms may vary to suit the need. We take the elements for granted and they do their job as ordained. If they change course, the world shatters. It would be wonderful to appreciate the elements of nature. Lakhs of species of living organisms like animals, birds, insects and microorganisms in the earth, water and air which act under the energy that controls the very movement and these cater to the ecological balance and goes through the evolutionary process. Trees and forests play a major role in climatic behaviors. They act in unison as if to achieve a common goal though individually they are not aware. It would be wonderful to acknowledge them with a thought that ensures our existence. We do have a history with the people that we come across in this life. Over time, we get to know some people well. At times, we hurt, kill (the spirit), fight with the very people that we love the most. Though at times we do without our knowledge, most times we do know and do it for attention. These people try and understand us and allow us to be part of them. It would be wonderful to appreciate the tenderness in relationships, with the people that we deal on a daily basis, those we worship in our minds and those precious ones we carry in our hearts. It would be wonderful to thank them in silence and in words once a while. The beauty of mountains, oceans, rivers, clouds, trees, the feel of the morning mist, fragrance of flowers, the very sight of the flower blooming, the sound of chirping of the birds, freshness of butterflies, colors of the rainbow, the smell and the mood change brought by rain, the brilliance of Sun, the coolness of moon, the orchestration of stars, the day to day chaos, the running that we do to keep our loved ones alive and active, the little pleasures and treasures, the knowledge that all these are limited, the end of knowledge that can show the way. It would be wonderful to skip the moment to feel the nature and our relationship with it. Appreciate every moment as the moment that we have now is precious and can never come again. We take our lives for granted and we live it as if waiting for the end to come. Let us live as if there is no end and that is the truth. Let each moment be wonderful! A nice saying that comes to mind … “We live as if we never die and die as if we never lived”. Live to the fullest potential with love! What a wonderful world … :)
