What a beautiful, Fall weekend! We got our storms last week which helped with the greatly needed rain while we got a break from the high temperatures and got a sunny weekend with lows in the 60s and highs in the 80s which felt so cool?! For those in Europe and Australia who are planning their summer vacations for 2015, I will love to visit and meet you when you come to Texas, but I am about to move my horses from Texas to Wisconsin and Ohio. My focus has become the Hunt Seat and those two states have been the most popular, AQHA Hunt Seat states since the 70s and still retain that distinction. Also, I was raised in Northern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin..I moved my horses down to Texas on 1/1/198. I conducted complete analyses throughout the years since 1990 to determine whether is was advantageous to invest in a Quarter Horse breeding farm in contrast to boarding out mares and babies. I was relieved that we wound up not buying 200 acres in Callisburg, Texas in 2/2006 or a Kentucky farm in 10/2007...they would have been poor investments and required great time and management. I would like to thank Sharon Slinker for her great care, time, and attention to our mares, babies, and to some of Morgans prior riding horses from 2008 through today....your care has been super and greatly appreciated, Sharon! I look forward to the care that Nancy Powell will extend to our Congress Champion mares, Angel in Captive and Lukes Marvelous who are both in foal to Hot N Blazing! Both mares have had awesome crosses with HNB with great minded and super legged foals! I look forward to breeding both mares to The Only Escape in 2015. For our two Western mares, they will be at the great Pine View Farms under the care of Debbi Trubee and Roger Landis to be bred to Lazy Loper in 2015. I feel that for business expenses and marketing, it makes sense to have my mares and foals in the states where the largest concentrations of hunt seat buyers are clustered along with the greatest number of Quarter shows in the Midwest. This is a business decision that is exciting to me while I sort out where I will stand The Only Escape and possibly The Game Changer for next year.
