What a beautiful fall Friday! We woke, meaning me, woke the human up way early this morning. I was able to do that this morning because I didn’t go to my crate last night. Grandpa was with Grandma at the hospital so the human let me sleep with her and Reva slept on the couch! So when the sun came up, I made sure we all got up. The human harnessed us up and took us to our favorite nearby park. There wasn’t too much activity there, a little black poodle and a man with 3 dressed head to paws with sweaters and bows, not leased tiny somethings. They looked like rabbits which made me want to chase them. The human kept going in the opposite direction but with every turn, I kept a close eye on them. She’d tell me to “leave it” and I’d just keep trying to drag her. I’m not very good at the “leave it” command. I will “leave” food and toys but I won’t “leave” another living thing. I wanna see it, smell it, maybe bark at it. I love things and according to the local paper, it states that I am very exuberant about life. Even though lunging my big body looks ferocious, I just want to play! The human is always yelling, “he’s friendly!“ Today on the way home, there was fly in the car, it kept landing on me and flying around. When the human came to the stop light, she opened the window to let it fly away. I was obsessively following it and as it went out the window, I almost did too. I wanted to follow it, curious to see where it was headed. It’s not that I don’t want to listen to very serious, may save my life, commands, it’s just that sometimes the moment takes over. This is how life should be. I’m here to remind my human daily of this. I know when she gets it, she muddles a laugh to herself usually followed by..”Oh Huckleberry.”So until she starts living her life like this always, I will keep reminding her. It’s time I return the smart phone, the human is leaving us with Grandpa and heading the hospital. Love, Live for today, we’ll dream tomorrow, Huckleberry
