What a beautiful rear end... Those of you who have been following Ol School Garages Facebook page for a while will know that I have a soft spot for 1960 Chevs...Impalas, El Caminos, Bel Airs, Brookwoods, Kingswoods, etc, etc. Basically any Chev with that iconic 60 Chev horned rear end. But for me, at the top of this list is the 1960 El Camino...so what seems eons ago I decided to build my own. As customer projects take precedent over personal projects, my El Camino has been a long time in the making. But I am pleased to report that it is very close to completion. Last week the lads in the workshop finished the custom exhaust and the interior is with our trimmer. So you know what is at the top of my Christmas list! My El Camino hopefully will be like no other. For one, it will have no stainless or chrome...everything is painted either pearl blue or parchment. I have also thrown a little red in as well to tie the two-tone colour scheme together...hope it works! In the engine bay will be a stonking great big 454 built by none other than our in-house engine guru Craig Jackie Johnston. Just for the hell of it I have included a photo of Roland standing in the engine bay fitting up some accessories. This is one big ute. Time permitting, I hope to be able to share some pics of Jackie firing up the beast next week. Cheers Leon
