What a beautiful sighting will it be if something similar to this is built somewhere in Owan West! Youll agree with me that Owan West has hundreds of football youngsters and athletes. Youll also agree with me that a lot of our youths have tried so hard to make it into the National or International teams but for lack of money, promotion and connection, the dreams of those youngsters may never come true. This is sad. It is sad especially because those that ought to promote sporting activities and young men & women with exceptional talents rather spend the money on their private lives, their godfathers, women or in buying choice cars and exotic houses. These monies could be used in promoting our Youths that have shown special talents. In Brazil, football stars are handpicked from the streets, trained and supported until theyre refined to play at their National Teams. In Calabar and other igbo lands, the government through her representatives at the local level - the Local Government Chairmen, House of Assembly members and House of Representatives members - organize and harness the youngsters, train, sponsor and promote them until they get to the national teams or good clubs. Owan has the same talents. We have the same representatives. We can do the same for our Youths. Just imagine if two persons from each ward are trained and sponsored to pursue any sporting career at the National or International level. Imagine the gains that we come to us. Since I learnt of Frank Ilaboyas plan to promote sporting activities, sponsor youngsters that are exceptional and establish a small stadium in Owan West, I have been very happy. Besides the job opportunities it will bring to Owan land, besides the economic boost Owan will witness, our good stars will also stand a chance to pursue their careers in sports. I support this idea because: 1. Building a stadium will create job opportunities for a lot of our people that engage in skilled Labour. The electricians, mechanics, carpenters, iron-benders, folkernizers and etc will benefit directly. 2. The motorists, bikemen, food sellers, barbers, hotel owners, shop owners, market women will also benefit directly from the influx of people that will flock to Owan land from the beginning of the project till God-knows-when. 3. The footballers and other athletes will benefit immensely. Theyll have opportunities to train with professionals. Theyll have a public stadium for regular practice & competitions. Theyll have the presence of the media to promote them. 4. Owan West will be second place to have a Stadium next to Benin City. This will bring the public to focus in Owan. 5. The Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of Owan West will increase by approximately 50%. This means Owan West will have much more money than she used to have. 6. The State Government will also be forced to increase our monthly allocation as Owan West will now be ahead of towns like Uromi, Auchi and etc. 7. Etc, etc, etc. Now, if these reasons are not sufficient to make you support & vote Frank Ilaboya, there are more reasons. Clearly, the man knows why he intends to go into government. He has the blueprint to bring glory to Owan West. He has good intentions and strategies. A stadium in Owan West is what no one should kick against. Will you not be a part of this development? Will you not support Frank to bring a Stadium to Owan West? I will support him. Why wont you?
