What a beautiful start to this Friday morning! A cool start but it is warming up nicely so Wayne is down at our big veggie garden area, harrowing so we can plant in the next few days. He is trying to beat any rain that might be coming. The land that we garden is a short drive {about a mile or so} and it is land that once belonged to Waynes grandparents and where they made a great living selling asparagus in its heyday. Weve been planting a vegetable garden pretty much since we got married so about 40 years! Since we freeze and strore for the winter, it is a pretty big gardne filled with my favorite veggies! It is def. a labor of love and very time consuming, but it is one of the best decisions we made. It is a treat to be able to grow organic food and enjoy it all year round. And the location of the land is breathtaking, with the Conneticut River on one side and the view of the Mountain House on top of Mount Holyoke on the other side...truly a slice of heaven on earth! I just sent out our shoppe e-mail and happy that is done! The computer {or AOL} is still giving me a few problems so it takes a little longer to get it together to be sent. But its done and out! And wow....the other thing that I just noticed this morning is that we are close to 3000 followers on this page. I am not a numbers kind of gal , but I must admit that this is quite exciting and rewarding. I know Facebook wants us to compete with each other to promote our page and get more likes than others but I dont believe in that. For me personally, this has ever been any kind of competition, just another way to help support and encourage each other. I really enjoy visting so many other great pages, filled with inspiration, ideas,humor and stories. This page simply started out as a way for our wonderful friends/customers to stay updated in between e-mails and it just grew from there, little by little, step by step, day by day. A big thanks to all who support us. either here or in our shoppe, or both....you are a big part of our lives! Thank you, thank you. thank you all, near and far! Time to get ready for the day!
