What a bunch of measly hypocrites the Germans are today. The West Germans wanted the USA and NATO to protect them from a Soviet invasion from 1949 until the USSR collapsed in 1991. Now a united Germany, a major trading partner with Russia, doesnt want the Poles and Baltic States (and Czechs and Hungarians too) who are also members of NATO to have the same security the West Germans enjoyed (and still do) when there were as many 500,000 American troops in West Germany from 1949 until the end of the 1980s keeping West Germany safe, secure, prosperous and free from an invasion by Soviet led Warsaw Pact. Hardly a week went by back then that young Germans didnt demonstrate and cry about how terrible the Americans were and then they went home in their BMWs, Mercedes Benzs, or VW Vans to enjoy the benefits of the West German welfare state and being eternal students. rt/news/168400-germany-opposes-nato-bases/
