What a busy couple of weeks. We had a beautiful funeral service - TopicsExpress

What a busy couple of weeks. We had a beautiful funeral service for Ben on Thursday, March 20th. All of Bens siblings were there in addition to his parents, and all of my siblings, and many other relatives and friends. It was wonderful to see so many people there. The flowers were beautiful. Everyone who spoke did a wonderful job, and Bens brother-in-law Gary sang beautifully. Elder Stephen Lund, who has been amazingly generous to us during this hard time, gave the closing remarks. Liz became an impromptu pall-bearer - she wanted to help. The Lindon cemetery, where Ben is buried, is small but beautiful. Liz picked out the design & font of the gravestone, which should be in place by memorial day. The next day Liz and I rode with Bens parents to their home in CA, where we stayed with them for a little over a week. It was a very nice visit, and Liz had a chance to meet and play with all her west-coast cousins, which she really enjoyed. Near the end of the visit we had a memorial service for Ben in his home ward. The bulk of the service was the same as the funeral, but nephew Joshua provided the music this time, performing a beautiful violin piece, and there was an open mic at the end. It was really nice to hear from people who knew Ben growing up, especially friends whos names Ive heard many times in Bens stories. Our Uhaul pod had arrived in Utah while we were gone, so since getting back Ive been working some on unpacking. Itll probably take a bit to figure out where everything can go. I also got a basic resume done up, and registered on ldsjobs.org. Yesterday I came down with some sort of awful stomach bug and spent the day sick in bed, but today Im feeling much better. Lots to do still to get this new stage of life figured out, but Im taking it one day at a time, and so far so good.
