What a compliment and this is not other neighborhood like Scripps Ranch anywhere! Here is a google alert for Scripps Ranch where someone asks if there is a neighborhood similar to SR but coastal. Hello! We are looking to move from our current neighborhood (which is awesome but has low performing schools) to a family friendly neighborhood with good schools. We really like Scripps Ranch because it is a fairly cohesive community, contains everything you need (good schools, grocery stores, cute library, lake, swim and tennis club), and has good schools. We like that the same kids move together through elementary school, middle and high school -- they are real neighborhood schools where the students actually live in the neighborhood. (Rather that schools where everyone commutes in and out or where neighborhood kids are forced to try to get into a charter school or transfer to a different neighborhoods school due to bad schools in their own neighborhood.) It would be a no-brainer for us to move to Scripps Ranch BUT we really want to live near the coast. Is there another neighborhood with similar characteristics to Scripps Ranch that is near the beach? My husband works in Sorrento Valley, so thats a factor. We considered Carmel Valley but it seems sort of crowded and the houses seemed really close together. Also, we are not ostentatious people so Im not sure if the vibe there would be right for us. These are just my impressions of Carmel Valley, though. Any other neighborhoods that might fit?
