What a crazy year its been. We had thought that it would be a lot - TopicsExpress

What a crazy year its been. We had thought that it would be a lot quieter than our 50th anniversary year. No. We were wrong on that assumption. Again we have had a big year with trials, fun competitions, lots of training and activities. The last few months have seen our President, Secretary and Vice President absent for some time. With well earnt holidays for some and illness and other commitments for others, it did disrupt some of the training. It is noted that a passing comment was made about changes to instructors because some people are not available. We have a wonderful training crew, some who only instruct on Wednesdays as they are just beginning their instructing, and others who are helping with Sundays. It must be stressed, again, that we dont get paid to attend the dog club. Its a passion with most of us and we love to share the knowledge we have. We are lucky that we can usually find someone to take the classes when our other instructors have commitments away from the club. Less than three years ago there were only 3-4 instructors compared to the 18-19 we have now. I think its unrealistic to expect an instructor to be at every class every week. Whilst we appreciate that handlers may like the training style of that particular instructor, it is often good to have a different view on the same principles from another instructor. Toward the end of the year, we are all tired. The work that goes on behind the scenes takes up a lot of time and effort. We look forward to a break over the Christmas period and that usually refreshes everyone for the coming year. We would like to thank the members for their support and especially the instructors. Some of them lead very busy lives and we are blessed that they have enough time to give to the club.
