What a day. A few sets of boodwork, one abdominal xray and a trip to the ED later, Maiya is home and sweetly dreaming away. Mid morning Maiya began experiencing severe abdominal pain and distention, coupled with some unusual swelling of her hands, feet and face, our pediatrician promptly sent us to Strong for testing to rule out the yucky stuff, like nefropothy and diabetes *which we did*.turns out peanuts digestive system is a little backed up, which will resolve with a little help over the next few days. Lab work did show an elevated TSH, with her levels doubling since July. We will be following up with endocrinology in the morning but most likely will just continue monitoring levels until a clear pattern of resistance emerges.
