What a day it has been! An unplanned-quick stop by the playground turned into... a mad dash to the ER, a transfer by ambulance to Mercy-Pediatrics/St. Louis and the possibility of surgery. Drew fell and broke both of the bones in his forearm. They originally said surgery for sure, but decided to try to set it and were successful, but because of swelling and the risk of infection (due to protrusion) they are going to reevaluate it on Tuesday. Its in a bad location - high risk of refracturing, so the next 3 weeks we will have to be ULTRA careful. He will be in a cast for 8-10 weeks with no activities. That will be fun with my very active 6 year. Pray for healing - NO surgery. I wanted to add how PROUD we were of our little man. He was incredibly BRAVE and even polite during incredible pain.
