What a day to say the least: Rogersville Fire responds to vehicle - TopicsExpress

What a day to say the least: Rogersville Fire responds to vehicle crash under propane tank with entrapment. Response time was less than 7 minutes by Rogersville Fire with our Police Department arriving in less than 3 minutes. Patient extricated and air lifted to Huntsville Hospital via Air-Evac. Please allow me to list those who made this a successful event. First to our 911 Dispatchers who we sometimes take for granted. Without them the process of emergency response would not be possible. Hats off to the Rogersville Police Department for their quick response. Thank you to Paramedic Amanda McNeese Thompson for being the first medic on the scene and taking control of the scene and patient. Great job Shoals EMS for their patient care. A huge thanks to Elgin VFD for helping land Air-Evac along with help from Anderson VFD and Killen VFD. It takes a team effort to have a happy ending. I can honestly say we work with the very best in the county. Ill be quite honest, when we first arrived on the scene the gravity of a car pinned under a large propane tank was un-nerving. I said a prayer before getting out of the fire truck :) Rogersville Fire also responded to a wreck with entrapment on US Highway 72 in less than 30 minutes from clearing the propane call. Landing Zone set up on US Highway for Air Evac while Rogersville Firefighter/Paramedic assisted in transporting patient to Athens/Limestone ER. Yep.....busy day.
