What a day today! Sonia Sotomayor met with students in the morning and appeared to a packed Student Union Ballroom (and on live stream) in the afternoon as part of her visit to SJSU. At lunch with the planning committee, she literally told me where to sit and then sat down next to me and started to chat. She really is a justice who cares about--and goes among and listens to-- everyday people. I am grateful to all the faculty and staff that helped make this visit happen, and so pleased for--and proud of--my university.
