What a fabulous fun morning! At 5am I went down to the back of the property to see the mares and foals. Feather asked for lots of pats when she saw me and I laid my head on her back as I scratched her tail and belly. We stayed like this for sometime and then Scout came over and a huge fight broke out between Feather and Scout. Scout has taken back her position under Sienna (Feather had claimed that spot initially) and there are still some major challenges happening between Feather and Scout. When they erupt like that everyone else clears out. Sunny was foal snapping submissively and little Heather watched on with a look of interest. Lacey had already left and walked over to the gate waiting for me to take her back up to the house with me. I told her we dont go that way anymore and we must walk the long way around. To that she trotted after me and took her favored position at my shoulder. We walked together about 500 metres and then the ground started to shake with the thunder of hooves. The rest of the herd were coming at great speed. Lacey took off as she is low ranking in the herd. I started to run and laughed as the herd all overtook me. After she was a short way ahead, Scout stopped sharply and stood quietly, waiting for me to catch up. She escorted me the rest of the way back up to the house
