What a fantastic day playing on The Ailsa at Turnberry. Starting out with a fabulous view of the course, starters hut on the 1st tee, caddies clubhouse, the actual clubhouse, Ailsa rock, the lighthouse and all could be enjoyed whilst taking a bath! It was a bright sunny day with the odd shower but it was always a 4 club wind - I was most pleased to hit 2 relatively short par 3s with a low (very) driven 3 iron. The 9th was special with the lighthouse and terrible to think that Donald Trump is thinking of changing the hole to a short drivable par 4 which would ruin it completely! The course was in excellent condition and it was a pleasure to putt on such good putting surfaces despite having to take the wind in to consideration. Playing Prestwick tomorrow (the home of the Open) so cant wait for that too never mind Troon on Tuesday :)
