What a fantastic evening last Wednesday at Burncastle-about 45 - TopicsExpress

What a fantastic evening last Wednesday at Burncastle-about 45 members turned out to look round Tolishill and Burncastle. Andrew had the sheep gathered on Tolishill for us-and clipping the next day! An excellent view to Fife, the Moorfoots, and many turbines. Alan, James Sharp and the gamekeepers-Craig, Gary and Tommy, gave us a great guided tour, pointing out landmarks, points of interest for sheep and shooting, with amusing anecdotes and general chat. We moved to Burncastle where Alan showed us his Blackie shearlings, and show sheep-a great show, and good luck in the autumn. The convoy made its way to the top of Burncastle and the view took in a great expanse of excellent, fairly flat hill ground. James had sheep gathered above the fishing lodge, and showed fine dog skills. We finished with an excellent barbecue, of burgers, sausages and the best ever roast lamb in redcurrant gravy-everyone should have a lamb with their BBQ! Gillian also had a fantastic summer fruits pudding. Linda gave a great hand and helped keep the wheels running smoothly. Thanks to you all, and especially to our host, The Duke of Northumberland. Photos to follow.
