What a few days. Weeks. Months. Years!! But mostly days. Still looking after a sick chookie, we had a lovely birthday party for Currawong Song (his first ever), and it was just the perfect people, and a totally delightful day and night. Some of the most diverse and interesting people that weve met since coming here graced us with their presences, and it was so easy and beautiful to be with all of them, that I didnt even get a trace of the jittery nervousness I often get around lots of people. And it struck me towards the end of the night, that it was because they were all so comfortable and easy to be with and easy to love. There were a stack of kids who played with sticks and swords and not a mishap among them! Racing round the house and paddock at lightning speed, and barely an accident. Total harmony amongst people of all ages. Stayed up late and talked round the fire, and some even slept around it, and then after a chilled morning of coffee and chats, a pit bull-esque dog that had been playing with Pixel all night, and getting on fine with, all of a sudden went Pixel out of the blue and mauled him. Currawong and Spiral and a friend took him straight to the vet, and hes gone through surgery, and had his broken jaw wired up, and his broken ribs bandaged, and hell be home tomorrow, and well be feeding him through a tube for 6 weeks as his jaw heals. A bit shell shocked. And then I come on here, and think to have a look at whats happening in blog land, and theres a vet from Denver, whos read my entire blog in 2 days, after finding me through my haters, and being a vet and mother had read my most recent post about feeling like I was living in Narnia, and had been prepared to be angered and disgusted……and instead gave me and my beautiful family and sweet pets a huge donation!! She said she was very different to me, and didnt agree with all of my opinions, but she admired my courage to be who I was, and also admired my honesty!! She also said that a lot of my franger fans were coming to begrudgingly admire me too! Take that as a huge compliment. And her donation is certainly gonna come in handy to help us look after Pixel to the best of our abilities. My, but how the universe turns in interesting ways…..
