What a funny day ..... The old school foundation all stars held off the young dynamics for 15 minutes until the first goal went in after a series of outstanding saves by Foundation keeper Graham. In fact for the first 20 minutes the foundation players just soaked up the pressure and at the same time draining the younger ones of their energy until they were ready to strike ..... Not yet though as the foundation players had to stick to their tactics and let another 2 goals in before half time , so we let the younger team pass their way through us and again and again to achieve this and at one point even smashed in an own goal for them because the younger team couldnt string two passes together.... On the stroke of 30 minutes the foundation team turned it on .... They sucked the younger ones into their defence again and hit them with the classic counter attack , straight down the middle with skills and flair with a combining pace and movement until their goal was in sight ..... A quick one , two and we were clear until violently brought down in the box resulting in a definite penalty ..... Neil stepped up to take it but decided to let Adam actually scorethe goal , so he placed his shot to the keepers right to making the keeper parry it in to Adams path exactly as planned and before you know it .. It was 3 - 1 . Well half time came and went very fast and as the foundation team took to the pitch once more , totally full of energy , we decided to let them have 1 more goal , so nearly straight from kickoff we just turned our backs and let them run into our area and score the simplest of goals which made it 4 - 1 the young team. Now the foundation team were ready and after 15 minutes of the young team trying to get the ball of the foundation players due to skill , movement and in many cases pure genius , thus draining the younger team all the time , they found the net again as Ritchie was totally taken out in the box again by Scott who had a torrid time dealing with his pace, flair and skills ...... Up stepped Ritchie to take the penalty and coolly rockets the ball into the roof of the net giving the keeper no chance ..4 - 2 . The feisty game continued with the foundation players continuing with their quick one two passes along with movement and ten minutes later Darren using his experience and genius skills , lost both of the midfielders marking him and threaded James the ball to which he swerved a perfect through ball 35 yards which took out half their team and straight to Doms feet who then shrugged off two desperate young but tall defenders to beat the offside trap, round the keeper and slot home from 6 yards ... 4 - 3. Things were heating up now and the foundation team knew it was a matter of time until they scored another goal , and another they did ..... Starting from the goalie they passed it around , switching it left to right and taking their time and even the crowd cheered as the ball was passed with ease while the younger team tried their damned hardest to get it off them until the inevitable happened ..... Yea another goal scored by Sam who weaves his way through their defence to slot home and make it 4 - 4 .... It was funny to watch and so proud of the foundation team as they teased and manipulated the younger guys into submitting ..And submit they certainly did , 5 minutes from time again and after some intricate passing and movement via the midfield players george decided to seal the victory by skinning three defenders and sending a 35 yarder to the top corner of the young teams goal ...Excellent goal and well deserved. Conclusion ...Class on Grass played very well but were outclassed by older, fitter and more experience players on the day .... Foundation team easily deserved the win ..... Obviously by the looks of the picture the younger ones were there for other reasons .... ROFL
