What a glorious and blessed EASTER MORNING 💙💙 Such an amazing day in so many ways 💙 finding out Ryans tumor was benign was such an incredible blessing for our family 💙 Ryan continues to totally amaze this Momma Bear - he had his Lumbar drain removed and had 2 more stitches placed in his back and had to lay flat once again for 6 hours 💙 we were excited because we were able to then get him standing and actually sitting up in a chair - we surprised Shailja when she came to visit last night 💙 he is eating a bit more and is so loved by all the nurses 💙 he is a medical miracle to the staff as many nurses had never taken care of patient like our Ryan 💙 Another sweet story with his absolutely phenomenal ENT Surgeon is when he came in to see Ryan on Saturday afternoon - he, too rejoiced in the benign status of Ryans tumor he shared how his 3 week old newborn son is in the hospital downstairs with a respiratory infection and his wife was having trouble with nursing the baby and with her keeping up with her milk supply -----and ok yes my maternal instinct and years of being a maternal newborn nurse kicked into high gear and I actually had the unique HONOR and PRIVILEGE of helping Ryans amazingly brilliant World Renown Surgeon navigate the journey of trying to help his wife with breast feeding and the Art of pumping 💙 Ryan was laughing at the conversation I was having with his surgeon - the surgeon asked if I was spending the night and if his wife needed help would I mind helping her?? Ryan kept saying only you Mom - you should have given him your cell number so he could text you for more advice What a gift to give back to a physician that had the skill and incredible knowledge of removing Our Ryans very rare tumor 💙💙 💙💙 I think this Momma Bear floated thru yesterday with an never ending smile -- my hands kept gently massaging Ryans sore neck and back and legs and I kept thinking about how Our Virgin Mary would have endlessly massaged Her sons bloody and beaten body - just how lucky I am to be here in Chicago and be at his side as he recovers from this very difficult surgery 💙 even going on a hunt for Swedish fish at 2 am because thats what he was craving was pure joy in this momma bears heart ❤️ So as I wish each of you a beautiful And Blessed Easter Sunday - please continue to keep our beloved Ryan in your prayers -- and Mark as he journeys thru his path of recovery with his amazing wife Lori and 5 kids and all his grand kids 💙💙 and could you add prayers now for Ryans surgeon and his sweet newborn son and his wife💙💙 thank you for all your prayers - cards -messages and voicemails- SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE as we hope this is Ryans last night in the Neuro ICU 💙💙 may GOD hold you in the palm of his almighty Hand 💙💙 thank you GOD for that almighty Hand in the healing process in this very special medical facility 💙💙
