What a grand day that was - met a couple of ladies along Kingsthorpe front, one of whom saw me play at Althorp Coaching Inn a few weeks back and said how much she enjoyed it, then realised she was the wife of an old friend and shed been a midwife whod helped our first born come in to the world. The woman she was with asked if I was related to Dorothy Spencer, my mother - her mother was my mums best friend when they lived in Hardingstone, Molly Thompson. Then a great time at the Old Beer festival where, apart from musical chums Lew Bear and Stevie Jones, I met up with a friend visiting from Thailand. Really good to catch up with Ray Holland and have a chat and catch up. Then tonight Gelda and I went for a curry at The Shajahan with a bottle of Campo Vieja. Or two. Lovely.
