What a great #HoodFit launch this morning, 80+ people came out and I’m so thankful to each and every one of them. I’m especially thankful to the core HoodFit team. Dr. McCreary aka Makeeba McCreary who encouraged me to stop whispering HoodFit but to speak it into being, for always having my back and making sure the team honored the essence of HoodFit and that we didn’t take any shortcuts or try to undervalue the movement. Javier Caraballo for waking my body up last year and reminding me of my abilities but mostly as a business owner always willing to give back to the community and staying true as a friend. Emmanuel Tikili who not only lifts my spirits to the next level every time we speak but who mentors me in so many ways. His belief in the HoodFIt movement concept was a major tipping point for me. Savannah Overton who’s only known me a short time but jumped in the boat without a life jacket, her enthusiasm, spirit and vision has been a amazing gift. Hector; well he’s just a sixteen-year friend that’s nudged me forward every step of the way☺ Today he nudged people that didn’t believe they could walk a mile into run/walking the entire three mile journey, enough said. Joanna Marinova and PressPassTV always jumping in when needed but more so making sure we stay true to the youth, by providing them opportunities and giving them a true voice. Much Love!
