What a great day. Im Blessed to have so many great people in my life. Todays Fire In The Park - Avalon Park Chili Challenge was a major undertaking. It took all parts of our community to make it work. Job well done. We raised a significant amount of money to invest into find a cure for breast cancer through The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and The Cure Bowl. Initially, I was very disappointed because after months of work I would not be able to experience this event because of having surgery on my shoulder. But with the skills of Dr McFadden at the Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic and the care of my love, Jacqui, I was able to be there and help as much as I could with the limited motions of my arm. Again, Jacqui was my savior and picked up the work and excelled at coordinating the Silent Auction/Prize Raffle that I was responsible for. She again showed me another reason why she is the most important person in my life. Congratulations to Matt from Mulberry Street Bar & Grill for placing 3rd in the Home Style Chili Category. He came through with minimal notice and physical support. Congratulations to Marlene, Chef Bernard and their team for winning the Peoples Choice Chili. It was a great birthday present for Marlene. Again, Thank you to the committee that allowed me to serve in this manner. Im now excited to become a part of the team for The Cure Bowl to be held December 19 at the Citrus Bowl. Again, another commitment of many to raise money to find a cure for breast cancer.
