What a great day, beautiful weather, nice breeze. Nowhere near as bad as I thought which is exactly what Norrie said. I could have ran more of it but I was so scared my hamstring would go again and I would be in a bad limping way, all I wanted to do was finish for the people who had sponsored me. I have been overwhelmed by the support and the money, all the messages on here and the 42 texts that came in this morning that I read before we started that encouraged me. A year ago this would only have been accomplished by car with me jumping out at the top of hills to take photos. I had Sandra Macleay booked in to do my fringe if a hearse had to remove me from a hill. Norrie Mackenzie, Sharon Macdonald and Paul Macdonald from the Fitness Studio SY are the reason I could do this and my bootcamp crew, what can I say, most awesome encouraging group of people and friends. Richard Karl Nelson, you encouraged me right from day one and told me that I could do it. :-) The last 2 miles where the hardest, harder than the steep up hills, I had had enough and wanted to surrender but money for dog houses and dog food got me to the end. In the hotel afterwards there were some hardcore runners chatting to Nina and I as soon as they realised we had done our first race for charity they donated money; it was lovely, they were so pleased for us. I knew a couple of miles in that I would definitely do it next year and that had not changed by the end. Am I allowed to wear my medal forever?
