What a great effort by maam !! This child is now talking despite being blind too. In her words...... In this class Tanvi is downs and Rudra is deaf-blind. We put hearing aids on Rudra as soon as he came to me like all deaf children . he also has residual hearing and we could do a lot with that . ( I believe that blind children have residual vision.) Very few are so blind that they cannot tell day from night but residual vision is not as useful as residual hearing and unfortunately Parents bend to focus on vision. With hearing and touch we have been quite successful with developing spoken language well enough for Rudra to live comfortably. He follows instructions , runs errands for mother answers questions and ask questions. His school is quite OK with him . Problem is reading and writing. Eye specialist have recommended certain instruments to be used for vision reading.
