What a great time I have had in Europe this past month. Three weeks in Germany, three days at home, and then a week in Italy. Rome, Florence, Venice, Montefiasconi, Ravigo, Novara, and Milano. The great people I have met is amazing. Baseball is the same the world over. Competitive, resillient, hard working, and great comradery and respect. It reminds me of the great fraternity of gymnastics that I spent a big part of my life with. The friendships forged are ever lasting. Sport has an amazing power to dig deep down inside someone. Ex major leaguer Jim Boutin once said, "I spent my life learning how to grip a baseball but it really was the other way around." Oh, there have been some trials. on this segment. How about no luggage for seven days. That could be a downer. I really believe I can pack lighter from this point fwd after this ordeal. I feel as if I have too much to wear now. It really makes it easier each day when you can eliminate the time to choose what you will wear. Tomorrow a doubleheader with Novara and then off to Chicago for a day and then a week in the Dominican. It only gets better with time. Just like a good wine.
