What a great voice ! Why is there such lack of interest today in casting voices like that one where they are suited. Casting now seems to be focused on a nice package performers with smaller voices who can fly from one part of the world to another, waking up singing high Cs or lows , doing loads of gymastics on stage but cheating the audience of getting on a higher ground and be lost in emotion by their excellence. Doing everything inside of a secure package seems to more important for some conductors and stage directors then moving the audience emotionally and carry them into a musical extasy. The sad thing though is that nowadays a big part of the audience think that that is all what opera is about ! :(
