What a great weekend on Kelleys Island, and it doesnt start any - TopicsExpress

What a great weekend on Kelleys Island, and it doesnt start any better than docking at Unique Marker Yacht Club just a block or two from downtown! Best view for boaters on the island, and many good friends that we always look forward to seeing! Giddyup Productions brought in Frank D Medley and the guys in the Getaway Band. The Getaway Band wowed the crowd Saturday afternoon at the West Bay Inn, Kelleys Island, Ohio. These guys are real pros! Meanwhile, there was the first annual Kelleys Island Music Festival going on downtown in the square that Jody and I were one of the proud sponsors of, so started my day off at 11am live music. The festival had live bands performing from 11am until 8pm, and although I was bouncing around trying to see all the bands on the island, I can tell you they put together an awesome festival, and the bands I was able to see were top notch musicians and bands. There was an impressive crowd all day! All of this was enjoyed with our friends Craig & April Jeffcoat Postel that joined us for the day. So we made the rounds, and starting at The Casino, where the fantastic Ron Howard and The Band Cruisin was playing. Kelleys Island is never complete without frequent visits to The Village Pump - Kelleys Island, OH. And yes, I did have the steak bites, and fun times with our friends Gary & Jackie Galloway Finger; always perfect hosts! As the sun came down, it was Dockers Waterfront Bar and Restaurant, The Village Pump (again!), The Caddy Shack and Bag The Moon Saloon. There was a really fine band at Bag the moon called Code Blue. Really enjoyed their music and song selection. Finally around midnight, I fell victim to one of the lyrics in one of Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefers songs, And I must confess, I can use some rest, I cant run at this pace very long, translated; a great nights sleep on the boat! Sunday a return to the mainland, and a small gathering on our boat with our friends Terry & Linda Morgan, Tom & Rosemary Steigerwald, and Bob & Becky Ford Kayden. It is amazing how much fun you can have!
