What a humbling experience to be at VoSD Art Day & Bake Sale on Sept 28 (Sunday) @ MG Road Boulevard (part of the #VoSDraceto11L fundraiser) that we SOLD OUT! It was humbling that immediately in the aftermath of being targeted by the sorry sods of a animal activists fringe, their friends at 2 ABC NGOs I know and their friends at the trashy Bangalore Mirror.... come an army of the most wonderful folks who bake 700 cakes for us gratis and and then sell them out! The highlight of the day was a - 13 yo girl with her parents - shed baked 75 chocolate cup cakes and iced with even more chocolate. And she and they stand there to take a picture with me when it should be the other way round (and I did BTW) - A 70 yo lady who came to show support knowing what has been said for me in the press - A lady pediatrician with her 12 yo daughter and 80yo father who want VoSD to be a part of their childrens clinic in some way! Her husband also a pediatrician - was out of the country and insisted she do not miss the opportunity to be there and discuss this! - The many many people who came to show support and shake your hand - most of them ladies - for someone who was dragged in with IPC 354 (attempt to outrage the modesty of a woman) and IPC 509 (threatening to outrage the modesty of a woman)! As the old lady said to me you have 10 people of these activist/NGOs who we all know who will do anything to bring you down. There were probably 10 people committed to your cause before you were treated the way you were. And now there are 10,000 who are committed to VoSD and you! It was humbling. It was uplifting. There will be post a little later of all the fantastic people who made this happen in a week! And I make no attempt to name all of them. But the ones who put it together from the front and got everyone on board were Swaroop Rao Lawrence, Sangeeta Velegar, Joyline Rodrigues & Mia Macadam . Can never say how grateful I am. Thank you!!
