What a joy to see my kids connecting things back to God! Caleb - TopicsExpress

What a joy to see my kids connecting things back to God! Caleb wanted to watch Prince of Egypt on Netflix, and I told him wed have to read a bit of Exodus out of his bible first. So after we read the first chapter and a half and I was able to explain things to him pretty in depth, weve now started the movie. Not only are we learning history and bible, but now we are learning geography. Hes got his map out and he can see exactly where the pyramids are and the Nile, and he even learned that the Nile River is the longest river in Africa. We also did a math lesson related to this story. We talked about how the Hebrews were multiplying and growing greater in number than the Egyptians, and we did some math problems to show how much you can multiply if, for example, each mommy and daddy has 5 kids, and they each had 5 kids (plus wives). Caleb saw how quickly you could grow a family and understands why Pharaoh was so scared of the Hebrews rising up against him. And we talked a little about the politics and morality of slavery. This is why I homeschool. Any time, any where, any day of the week...it doesnt matter. Theres a lesson to be learned in all we do. This is why we choose to classically educate our children. God is in everything, and every subject can be connected back toward Him! Our mission: To know God and make Him known. #ClassicalConversations #HomeSchool
