What a last few days weve had; a timetable for delivering more powers for Scotland, Scotlands flag waving proudly over Downing Street and, oh yes, the convenient announcement of a Royal Baby. And all because 1 poll poll shows the Yes Campaign ahead. Today we will have the leaders of the 3 main UK parties parachuting into Scotland in a state of panic to tell us about more powers being delivered to Scotland in a few short months in an effort to stem the tide. These powers are not new, they are the same powers that have been on the table for the last few months. As for the timetable, its OK the 3 wise monkeys cobbling together a last ditch agreement over a telephone call but do we really believe that all the Labour, Tory and Lib-Dem MPs will suddenly agree to vote for such a major constitutional change over a few short months? Party Leaders dont deliver, Parliament does, and there are many many English MPs who really dont want Scotland to have more powers. At the very least they will be thinking as they debate whats in it for us?. Weve been here before in 1979 remember and, well, we know the rest.... Dont be fooled by this last minute panic love-in. Weve been taken for granted for so long and Westminster has only taken notice now (after the voting has started remember) because they fear for their jobs and for the effect that a Yes vote will have on the City of London. We must maintain our resolve and BELIEVE. This is our moment, lets seize it with both hands!
