What a lot of replies tonight... the fear factor obviously makes it more interesting! A1. Certainly, if you can, stand still (c) and many rangers recommend shouting to confuse the lion. Chris Le Rouxs answer was the most entertaining: After standing still take a step to the left so when you back off you dont stand in the mess you left on the ground behind you A2. You know a lion is about to charge when it lashes its tail up and down, flattens its ears and (sometimes) roars. A3. You should get behind a tree because they have poor eyesight that is especially bad at picking outlines but is better at spotting movement. So standing still behind a tree is best. A4. When elephants are in musth they discharge abnormally large amounts of secretion from their temporal glands. A stiff gait and a continuously dribbling unsheathed penis are also clues. A5. Hyena, although Honey Badger is also a decent answer (although less likely to come into a temporary camp). If you didnt know the answers or got some wrong and spend time in the bush then strongly recommend you get the Phone Ranger App which offers tracking advice, tips and reference material as well as lots more! Demo video of the Phone Ranger App... Thanks for the great feedback and reviews everyone! https://youtube/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ObIJMFwg7YE
