What a night! Up close with the Knockout game tonight in midtown - TopicsExpress

What a night! Up close with the Knockout game tonight in midtown NYC - Broadway and 56th st. Out of the 3 old ladies walking in front of me, the one on the outside corner gets a hard punch by a single guy walking towards us. Pathetically, chooses to hit the old lady instead of me behind them! The lady fell backwards towards me. Her friend on the side and I broke her fall else she would have hit her head on the side of the building. The guy tries to run past me, so i extend my food out to trip him. He falls face down on the sidewalk, and the corner street hot dog vendor (still holding a hot dog to serve) jumps on him and hits him with the hotdog (and i cant seem to get his image out of my head now). While hes held down by more guys who joined, I ran towards an ambulance on the road (no sirens). Asked them to help and their answer we are busy with another patient even though there were 4 paramedics. Oh well, at least I got a street cop to cuff the guy...then looked for a little ayurveda healing for the woman. Nothing better than a neighborhood italian restaurant!! Got one of their table napkins, crushed some cabbage, parsley, thyme and raw eggs together with ice and made a kerala style kizhi for her face to keep her bruising/swelling down. Blood stopped from collecting near her eyes thankfully. Good thing the punch landed on the corner of her eye, not directly on the eye socket. She had no idea what knockout game was. The guy was arrested. Hopefully im not called as a witness since the guy kept apologizing even in front of the cops so they had his guilty verdict! Please people, walk with complete awareness of whos coming towards you and whos walking behind you!!! Even in midtown NYC! Esp. during the holidays, while shopping etc, as these ladies were out shopping too!
