What a paradox of presidential power! Boko Haram (BH) captured 13 - TopicsExpress

What a paradox of presidential power! Boko Haram (BH) captured 13 communities in North East Nigeria. President Jonathan is the head of state, head of government, and commander-in-chief of armed forces. Hes vested with power, authority and legitimacy to protect the territorial integrity of Nigeria. President Jonathan is respected in ECOWAS and African Union for commanding Africas largest armed forces. Yet, the presidential power of Jonathan seems to be failing in curtailing BH insurgents. Would President Jonathan have failed to effectively deploy his presidential power, if Otuoke and communities of Bayelsa state are captured by insurgents? Would President Jonathan be comfortable with failed presidential power if abuja and its environ are captured by insurgents? How long will it take President Jonathan to exercise presidential power and sufficiently equip the Nigerian armed forces to combat BH insurgents? Why is President Jonathan not addressing the nation to rekindle national hope and the spirit of security personnel combating BH insurgents? Why is President Jonathan lukewarm in exercising presidential power to investigate and bring alleged sponsors of BH insurgents to justice? Is President Jonathan seemingly incapable and incompetent of effectively exercising presidential power? Whats your opinion?
