What a pity ! I am distressed by the death of poor innocent and hapless women who went for a sterilisation camp and returned as dead bodies. It brings tears to my eyes. We talk of globalization, India becoming a super power and high growth of economy. And so it such a pity that these women who are already living in poverty are given treatment that ends their lives. And now the blame game is being played as usual. That does not take away from the fact that so many mothers and wives have disappeared from among us. Why don’t we take collective responsibility, particularly by those in authority for such shameful events? Can something be done to effectively stop this? As it is well known many citizens of India do not like to go for treatment to government hospitals, because of their true or false notoriety. People do experience callous neglect and substandard medication. There is now a need for the Government, State and Centre and all of us to ensure that patients are treated with care and responsibly both in private and government run hospitals. I offer my heart felt sympathies to the bereaved families. I hope they will be helped generously by the government. May God grant eternal rest to the young women who lost their lives.
