What a relief ! The elections are over. Candidates have become creative with criticism of their opponents. Truth is not necessarily the theme of their advertisements. When the political season heats up, you would think all scripture about lying, slandering and criticizing others has expired. Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians 5:11, Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. I love when I hear something good about one of our church members, and I get to pass it on to you. I often hear, “My child’s teacher goes to Pleasant Valley South. She has been a great influence on my child.” I hear parents compliment some of our teens because of their Christlike behavior. I have employers who say, “Thank you for recommending a particular PVS member. They are an asset to our company.” The church should be the encouraging place. Who have you praised lately?
