What a roller coaster the past few days have been! Thursday I had - TopicsExpress

What a roller coaster the past few days have been! Thursday I had a great birthday with the celebration spilling in to Friday and Saturday! Thank you all for all the incredible birthday messages! Friday morning I loaded up the van and we headed south for the Rogue Canine Agility NADAC trial in Central Point. The first run on Friday was Jumpers and Kant was the 3rd dog to run and we had an amazing run to get NATCH-5 and Versatility NATCH-5!!!!! Kant continued to run GREAT the rest of the weekend – 10 runs over the 3 days and she got 8 Qs! Only 1 Jumpers but that was all we needed! She was on fire this weekend running the fastest she has in a long time; she was the fastest dog in Elite Regular 1 on Sunday and also the fastest of all the dogs in Tunnelers the last class on Sunday! My blue girl ROCKS; don’t tell her she is sick! Echo also had an incredible weekend after having a “bad day” last Sunday in Elk Grove and having me contemplating quitting agility with her. Echo got 8 Qs out of 14 runs which included 4 out of 5 Regulars, Weavers, Jumpers, Tunnelers, and Chances; only 4 more Chances until her NATCH. We had several non-qualifying runs but she was paying attention! I love the teamwork that Echo and I are developing when she is not have a bad day! Echo is now completely qualified to go to Champs! True also had 14 runs and got 6 Qs and 3 new titles. True continues to develop a huge fan club! True is clearly 2 and is pushing the boundaries but we will get it worked out! But she held her start line except for one run even in Tunnelers! I love that little tri girl so much and I am loving the journey we are on! I had to say good bye to my first Sheltie, my first agility partner yesterday, and my favorite oversized Sable Sheltie! Hershey was just 3 days away from his 14th birthday. He was fine Saturday morning but then was not doing good Saturday afternoon; he rallied a bit Saturday evening so he could stand and potty but he crashed Saturday night and never recovered. He passed Sunday morning at the agility trial surrounded by friends! It is a miracle that Jordana and I still do agility after running Hershey; contacts were not needed and invitations in to tunnels were a must! I have the best pictures of him barking at us on the course! But he taught me so much, got me hooked on Shelties and agility, and he was such a great dog as long as you did not leave food where he could get it! I cannot stop smiling when I think back on all the adventures we have been on! I cry when I think of not getting to put my hands on that handsome boy anymore! The house is quiet without the ticking of his toenails on the wood floors! But Hershey is free again to run and have all the treats he wants and I know he is keeping my dad company with Freckles, Denali, Casey, and Slick! Good bye Big Boy until we meet again! I want to Thank all my friends for all their love and support this weekend! I could not have made it through the day without you!! Anne Minnich, Arlene Courtney, Bart Pierce, Deb Pierce, Lynda J. King, Stefan Elvstad, Alecia Elvstad, Jill Bonifield the way you guys just stepped in and helped I will be FOREVER grateful! All the amazing WAGgers that gave me the most precious necklace that I absolutely love and will always remind me of Hershey and all of those that loved him! What an incredible agility family I am blessed with all because of Hershey!
