What a sad place we find ourselves in as a nation. There have been great strides made by many on both side of the color spectrum, that is to say both black and white people to end racism. People of both colors over the past fifty years have worked hard to stop racism. It is people like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Melanie Campbell. Jackson and Sharpton both called for the justice department to bring civil rights volition charges against Zimmermen, but both have been silent when three young black teens killed a white teen just for fun because the were bored, with one posting racial hate about white people. Here is what Melanie Campbell had to say yesterday at the MLK fiftieth anniversary of is “I had a dream” speech “Melanie Campbell, the president of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation, said though black Americans are not threatened by biting dogs and KKK members in white hoods, the “dogs are still biting in other ways” and there is still “racism and inequality.” She said, “Today there are no white sheets, but there are judges in black robes in the U.S. Supreme Court striking down Section 4 of the Voting Rights Act, opening the floodgates in many states to pass more voter ID laws… with the goal of ensuring we never see a black man elected to the president, or woman, of the United states of America.” The sad thing is it is people like this that racial tensions high. It is so disheartening that so many people have worked so hard to take down the walls of racism one brick at a time just to have others come behind them to put back the bricks for their own personal gain. There can never be racial unity as long as we have race batters like those mentioned. God help us!!
