What a statement to have completed the watering setup and temporary hot house for the tomatoes already. Its August for heavens sake! Ill have lots of various kinds of summer squash, green onions, slicing cucumbers, French round and 1/2 size gourmet carrots, kohlrabi, lots of mammoth dill for the dill pickleers in the community and Im still eating varieties of lettuces out of my garden that you may be interested in as well. Later Ill have long, rainbow carrots, heirloom tomatoes, red cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and winter squash for sale. My green bush beans are blooming like a house a fire and Ive got to stake my pole beans yet so who knows how they will produce. I planted some late potatoes to complement the pole beans if all goes as planned. Of course I have my usual herbs and welcome inquiries. Its pouring rain right now so who knew that I could use Mother Nature instead of my artisian well water to move things along tonight. My produce is nothing but organically produced and Im selling it all this year rather than putting most of it up due to my health. Thank you for your interest in local foods and I grow using old, old methods without any chemicals (not even organic pesticides for the last 2 years.) There is some loss while the beneficial insects gear up to eat the vegetable munchers but I refuse to continue to kill the pollinators now that I understand that even organic pesticides are killing them. I dont grow for profit as much as I do for my health and the health of others. Its hard physical work to follow the old ways but I believe in organics and I wont grow using chemicals and tell you Im an organic producer for profit over ethics.. I wont feed my chickens cheap GMO feed and tell you they lay free range and/or organic eggs. I AM an organic producer but not big enough to seek certification.
