What a way to end the day. Trying to get a jump start on the cleaning for Boston’s birthday party, I was cleaning the counters of the outdoor kitchen. Armed with a bucket of soapy water and a trusty old dish rag I was working away. At the far end of the counter where the counter meets the support pole is a small cubby hole that attracts and holds dirt. I went in full steam with my trusty dish rag and bumped something not quite solid. I lower my head to study it at the same time I reached in to get it out. Just as I had two fingers gripping the pile of dirt, the medieval part of my brain screamed “Danger, Danger, Danger Will Robertson”. It was at the point the dirt uncoiled and began to slither out from under the counter top. I did not stop running backwards even when I ran into the other side of the kitchen. I ran in place screaming oh, oh, oh as he slivered down the cabinets and out into the yard. Whew!!!!
