What a way to end the work week! 59 minutes before I am off for - TopicsExpress

What a way to end the work week! 59 minutes before I am off for the next two days, my post at the Fire Control Center at the Columbia Tower in Seattle recieves a fire alarm! At 0659hrs, my Fire Works computer went "Red", and bells and audibles were chiming. The discripter display showed a " Increment 3 Water Flow Alarm ", which in tech means a "possible" fire sprinkler release. Since we are in a "normal mode" with our fire alarm company, this means an emergency response from the SFD. I called 911 and updated the alarm. When I did not recieve a "Floor Flow alarm" after 4 minutes, I updated the SFD so they could downgrade their response to the building. A "Floor Flow Alarm" would indicate a building posture of the viking vavles, (2 way and 3 way sectional valves that rotate into position and allow our hydronic loop to replace the sprinkler grids depleted tank if there was an actual water release!), ergo; an actual fire! The Batallion commander from the SFD was in FCC for all of 3 minutes, before he allowed me to reset the fire panel, and all alarms cleared. I then had to spend the next 40 minutes logging all this activity to our security logs, and fill out an Incident Report for ABM and building management, while my adrenal levals were begging for a Cuppicino and a smoke! ;)- Eeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Now the building engineers will scratch their heads, and as usual; say it was an anonamoly........
