What a way to start the week. Just inspiration over flowing, - TopicsExpress

What a way to start the week. Just inspiration over flowing, after a couple of hours mentoring entrepreneurs on the phone and hearing big pins drop. Then I saw this on Facebook. Though this is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen all I could hear while looking at it, was my friend Costa making the case for an electric car. With Musk doing so well at making long-range electric possible I had an idea. In the old days, when a telephone was the new thing, cars were different. If you had money and you went to Rolls Royce, you would by the car bits that made it go. Then you would go to a coach builder and choose the body you wanted to see. Later on, this evolved into the two coming together. It got me thinking. Lets reverse evolution in car design. This company has designed something I consider to be beautiful, not least because it hints at one of the most beautiful cars ever in a modern package. When Proton launched in the UK, they chose to use an old model of Vauxhall Cavalier (fools), then modernised it with a ten year old design for an Astra (fools). Lexus launched their first car using the floor plan of a Mercedes S class (less fools). Tesla launched their sports car using a Lotus Elise light weight, splendid. Then their own cars have everything I like about Maserati about them. They are pretty. Soon the Prime Minister of the UK will have to give up his Jaguar XJ and have a Tesla. This is great, but I also frowned, because the XJ is pretty, I like it and think a PM should have a Jag. Jag though is not about electric motors. So maybe a new British niche industry will be reborn. With Musk so open about sharing his ideas, maybe he will produce a floor plan and the engineering for a car, which can be matched to a range of coach built bodies. Maybe one day I can have an electric Aston Martin DB5. davidbrownautomotive/story/
