😢 What a week!!! Received a call early yesterday morning from an old mates son Matthew to inform me of the sudden passing of his Dad Les Cumming. For a decade I worked with Les on Ron Bunkers Big Blue Ones ( Bunker Freight Lines ) & for all of that time Les was an East West identity. For anyone running the Melbourne to Perth track not to know of Les would be unheard of. He was a stalwart of that road pulling DFE / Star Track Express freight & a pioneer of the B Triple combinations that are now so commonplace across The Paddock. Les was also BFL Victorian Drivers delegate for eons & was passionate in that role & made a point of getting to know the hundreds of drivers that passed through all the depots gates regardless of them being from his patch or not. I was fortunate early on in my time at BFL to be mentored by all the old hands there & Les was one of them. During my tenure as a National nightshift manager & then Operations in Perth Les was my all important go to man on all the happenings across the Nullarbor. His importance at Bunkers shall not go unrecognised. My condolences, utmost respect & much love go to the Cumming family as well as the many many mates Les gathered in a lifetime of trucking Australias highways. These were the trucks Les guided across the paddock in the 10 years I worked with him 👌👊☝️👍
